Charitable Giving: Police Unity Tour

I often find myself telling clients when they are so enmeshed in their challenges to find a cause bigger than themselves and Give, Volunteer or Donate. It makes you realize there are people/animals/causes out there who need you. It changes your perspective, it takes you outside of your challenges and puts you in the position of being empowered. You are blessed in blessing others.

I recently donated our Gallery to host a fundraising event for the Police Unity Tour, a non-profit organization. I make it a point to donate time and money to charitable causes that I have a connection to. The primary purpose of the Police Unity Tour is to raise awareness of the Police Officers who have died in the line of duty. The secondary purpose is to raise funds for the National Law Enforcement Officer’s Memorial.

The Police Unity Tour started in 1997 with only 18 riders who raised over $18,000. Over 1,300 law enforcement officers from across the country participated in 2011 and raised $1.5 million. The Police Unity Tour in its 16-year history has raised nearly $10 million. Each rider, motor, and support person is responsible to raise a minimum of $1,800 in donations to participate.

My personal connection is to a dear friend, Kathleen Mathews, who will be riding this year. I would love it if you could help me in supporting this cause, or if you prefer, find and support a cause of your own.

To help support the Police Unity Tour go to http://socalput.com/sponsorRider.asp select a rider (Kathleen Mathews would be great) and make a donation. Any and all amounts are appreciated.

Remember there is always someone who needs you.
