Home Remedies for Wart Removal

Warts are ugly, bumpy viral growths that frequently show up on hands and feet; no one likes them and no one likes to talk about them.

Warts are caused byEuropean toad (Bufo bufo) isolated on white the human papilloma virus of which there are over 60 types, including the ones that cause genital warts. But we’re not here to talk about genital warts today; we are here to talk about the ugly bumpy ones that show up on your hands and feet.

For starters, being viral means they are contagious. You picked up the virus from someone somewhere, and they got it from someone else. They spread readily and easily; although most likely spread from person-to-person contact, you can also get them from contaminated objects, like towels. You can spread them from location to location on your own body as well. Often the time between initial contact and their appearance can be several months.

Occasionally warts will go away on their own, but more often they need treatment. There are three venues for treatment: over the counter, medical intervention and home remedies.

The over the counter treatments are either chemical or cryogenic — they either chemically burn them off or freeze them.

Medical intervention includes chemical or electrocautery — they are burned off either chemically or with heat. Surgical, typically used in cases of large masses of warts or when they have not responded to other treatments and laser, again, are burned off.

Home remedies seem to have the greatest variety of options though, and I can personally attest to at least one of them working. You’re welcome to try any of the others and let me know what works for you. Most of the home remedies suggest daily treatment for between two and four weeks.

· Apply the milk from dandelion stem several times a day
· Apply warm castor oil to a bandage placed directly on the wart at least three times a day
· Apply the juice from an aloe plant several times a day
· Rub a sliced raw potato on it several times a day
· Crushed chickweed placed over the wart and covered with a bandage
· Mashed garlic placed only on the wart and covered with a bandage for 24 hours (protect the surrounding skin with Vitamin E oil and only treat once per week)
· Tea tree oil applied full strength several times a day
· Place a small patch of duct tape over the wart daily

The remedy that worked for me was soaking my hand in hot salted water several times a day. Within two weeks I noticed my two warts had reduced in size by nearly 60%, and at four weeks they were completely gone. There are no side effects, no expense, and no destruction to other tissues around the wart.

So give one of these home remedies a shot, you have nothing to lose except maybe a wart or two.

What home remedies have you tried and what worked for you?

I had some several years ago and used concentrated vinegar, applied directly on the wart twice a day and within 4 days the wart dropped off, A small wound develops, however. where the wart was and requires a few days to heal.
