It's Duck Season at Downtown Disney

IMAG0301

I L*O*V*E all things Disney, as most of you know. I am at Disneyland Resort several times a month for various reasons (I’m not on payroll as of yet, but who knows what the future holds). I have eaten at Napa Rose, Steak House 55 (formerly Granvilles), House of Blues, Brennans and all points in between many, many times over. I come back to this place for many reasons, but the number one reason is: they serve duck. It is pretty consistently on their menu. My husband does not ask for much and when he does, I do my very best to accommodate; he loves duck and they do a great job with it. I can’t even begin to tell you the bad duck experiences we have had over the years; fatty, tough, overcooked, etc…

At Catal we have had nothing short of great dining experiences. About two weeks ago we were there for my actual birthday dinner and I put myself in the capable hands of our waiter, Michael, and he suggested a lamb dish that was a wonderful combination of sweet and savory lamb chops over a bed of lentils with a spicy paprika and a beautiful gemolata. I was in heaven. I love lamb and I thoroughly enjoyed the texture and flavor combinations that were put forth in this dish.

My husband Rick had duck. I know he enjoyed it. I truly do not recall how it was prepared though (did I mention how good my lamb was?).

Rick doesn’t eat red meat, so Steak House 55 is a major compromise. He doesn’t like spicy or fried foods, thus HOB and Brennans aren’t frequent destinations either. Catal, however, we both agree on. The service is great, the food inspired and hey, you just might catch me there tonight. (If you do stop in, give my best to Michael and Leonard, they make my experiences there worth coming back for.)

Hi Kimberly! I love your blog 🙂 I messaged you on twitter to ask you about the design.

Hey I also assist with a radio show, at UBNRadio.com/DrMarissa. Her radio show is about being more happy and fulfilled. She’s going to have a 30 yr Disney exec on her show soon, and I noticed your Disney references here. Just wanted to make contact, say hello, and see if there was any interest on your part to sponsor a radio show. (And also to ask you about your blog)

    Thanks!
    Sandy

Thank You Sandy! I saw the message this morning. I believe the blog is word press and we are on the same platform for the website.

Yes, I’m a bit of a Disney nut… I’d love to hear more about the radio show, email [email protected] and we can set up some time to talk.
